Gamal nets another as Wits advance in TKO

Bidvest Wits advanced to the semi-finals of the Telkom Knockout after an Amr Gamal goal saw them beat Baroka FC 1- 0 at the Bidvest Stadium on Saturday evening.

The hosts broke the deadlock in the 10th minute after man of the match Vincent Pule’s through ball found Gamal who netted his third goal of the tournament.

The Clever Boys continued to create chances and threatened to extend their lead in the opening half. Baroka struggled to come to terms with the pace and incisive movements by Hunt’s side.

Pule was denied by a great save by Virgil Vries a few minutes before the interval, the Baroka keeper doing well to keep out the headed effort.

Bidvest Wits’ injury woes continued as Nazeer Allie was forced off in the 62nd minute, he was replaced by Granwald Scott.

The visitors rang their changes in search of an equalizer but Wits remained resolute and disciplined to secure their spot in the semi-finals of the Telkom Knockout.
