Bidvest Wits awards evening – a nod to a shared vision

Bidvest Wits hosted their annual awards evening on Wednesday 28 June 2017, at Theatre on the Track in Kyalami. We look back at what was a highly emotional and exciting evening.

Fresh from an amazing 2016/17 season, the Bidvest Wits family came together to celebrate the teams performance and chart a map for the future. Switching from football boots and jerseys to black tie, the team was in high spirits.

Brian Joffe, Chairman of Bidvest Wits had this to say: “Our clear sense of purpose, our absolute and unwavering determination, our relentless perseverance and tenacity but most importantly our strength in unity are the core values that have been the cornerstone of our growth as a club in recent years. Without losing sight of these strengths (without which we will not succeed) we must now take it to another level – a level where there is a culture of winning and where coming second in any competition, is not an option that we are prepared to accept.”

It is this vision and culture of winning that is at the core of the Clever Boys’ performance this previous season.

Thulani Hlatswayo, who walked away with two awards, said “This is my first time receiving an award and I am incredibly happy and humbled. Thank you to Coach Gavin for the effort he has put into grooming and elevating me as a player. I can honestly say he awakened my inner beast”.

Congratulations and our deepest thanks to the entire Bidvest Wits family, our players, coaches and our beloved fans. Our success and future endeavour are only possible because of your dedication and support.
