Bidvest Wits first defeat in MDC

Two goals from Bloemfontein Celtic striker Ephraim Mangweni in the space of 90 seconds handed Bidvest Wits their first MultiChoice Diski challenge defeat on Sunday morning at the Bidvest Stadium in Johannesburg.

The match began at an energetic pace as the Braamfontein based sides showed some neat passing to dominate possession early in the first half. The visitors were hard at work from the first whistle pressing them on the ball and prevented any clear cut chances early on.

In the heat of the day both teams stopped for a water break and a quick breather. Although the teams pushed hard the half time whistle blew and both teams entered the tunnel with a 0-0 score line.

After many attempts at goal Somila Ntsundwana  played a beautiful through ball and slotted home a neat finish to put  the host 1-0 up in the 52nd minute.

Phunya Sele Sele fought back  and found an equaliser through Mangweni in the 70th minute before completing his brace, to put the visitors 2-1 up lead than 90 seconds after the restart.

Bidvest Wits will travel to Polokwane to take on Rise and Shine at the Peter Mokaba Stadium on Sunday the 20th of November. Kickoff is set for 10h00
