Bidvest Wits finished the Absa Premiership season third on the table with a 1-0 victory over Golden Arrows at Princess Magogo Stadium.
Darren Keet started in goal in the absence of the suspended Ricardo Goss, while Granwald Scott and Gabadinho Mhango also. Made their return to the starting lineup.
The Clever Boys started on the front foot, pinning Arrows back in their own half. But neither side could fashion any clear-cut opportunities in the opening 15 minutes. Mhango had the first attempt on goal in the 18th minute but Mbaeva was equal to the task.
Gavin Hunt’s side took the lead two minutes after the interval when Mhango headed home from a delivery on the right-hand side.
The Clever Boys continued to push for a second goal and created a number of chances through Gift Motupa, Thabang Monare and Deon Hotto but the score remained 1-0 to the visitors.
