Bidvest Wits were dealt a blow as Baroka made their home advantage count with an early strike to progress to the TKO final.

Bidvest Wits crashed out of the Telkom Knockout semi-finals with a 1-0 defeat away to Baroka at the Peter Mokaba Stadium.

Baroka started the game well as Matome Mabeba scored a left footed free-kick from the edge of the box, after Buhle Mkhwanazi was deemed to have handled the ball.

Cole Alexander almost equalised for the Clever Boys straight after the restart with a close-range header inside the box that was saved by Baroka shot-stopper Elvis Chipezeze.

The Clever Boys continued to dominate possession and created numerous chances, but failed to convert any of those chances.

Gift Motupa was presented with a glorious chance to equalize after he was picked out in the six-yard box but his finish sailed over the bar.

Lehlohonolo Nonyane found himself unmarked at the far post with a chance to bring Wits level but his strike also went over the crossbar.

The referee blew the final whistle, ending Wits’ hopes of reaching the 2018 Telkom Knockout final.
