Telkom Knockout Vital for Wits

With the Telkom Knockout set to kick off this weekend, the Clever Boys are eager to get to Bethlehem and defend their title when they travel to the City Of Roses to take on arch-rivals Free State Stars in the Last 16.

Bidvest Wits come into this encounter with a slight upper hand having won four games to Free State Stars’ three, with three games drawn. The Braamfontein outfit also has the better record when playing in Bethlehem, winning three, losing two and drawing one.

Wits hosted a Telkom Knockout media open day on Wednesday and coach Gavin Hunt had the following to say ”We are under no illusions that this is going to be a tough game for us, we are all trying to get through to the next round. If you get knocked out of Telkom in the first round it is a problem because you don’t play any football for a month and a half, I think we will play one game in the month of November.”
