Bidvest Wits will be playing away against Cape Town All Stars in what promises to be an exciting, fast paced match.
We spoke to Buhle Mkwanazi to get his thoughts on the draw. “It’s a tricky draw because we don’t know anything about the team, but we are determined and taking the game seriously. Our focus is to play a great game and try to advance to the next stage.”
Cape Town All Stars player, Mlungisi Mbunjana, also seemed excited about the upcoming match. “It’s a great fixture, I am really looking forward to the match. It’s always valuable in terms of exposure and experience to play against a team that’s playing in the PSL.”
The last 32 draw produced only two clashes involving Premier Division teams, Free State Stars were drawn against Highlands Park while Golden Arrows take on Maritzburg United in the KZN derby.
Professor Ronnie Schloss, COO at the PSL, asked “How do you measure a good relationship?” We say it’s all about quality. Which is exactly the kind of football the Bidvest Wits side will be looking to bring to the Nedbank Cup this half of the season.
“Nedbank Cup games are like a one day international – it’s either you win it or you’re out. We need to use the ABSA Premiership Cup games as an opportunity to gain momentum before the Cup and really play the best football we can,” concluded Mkwanazi.
