VV impressed with Jayiya, De Sa remains upbeat

Kaizer Chiefs coach Vladimir Vermezovic was impressed with Bidvest Wits winger Bhongolwethu Jayiya while his opposite number Roger De Sa took the positives out of the 2-1 loss in the MTN8 quarterfinal match.
“People might say Keegan (Ritchie) had a bad game but I think that boy, number 12, is really good. He is going to give allot of defenders trouble and he had a good game, lots of left-backs will struggle” the Serbian said of Jayiya.

“I think our defence was good, I saw Thomas Sweswe was man of the match, Dominic Isaacs had a good game and I cannot complain about them, I won’t criticise them here, they did well,” he said with reference to a question about Chiefs conceding in the 11th minute.

“I cannot say whether we will get more players or not, ask the managers, I do not have the money,” he said jokingly. De Sa then quipped, “We can sell you another defender.”

Wits strikers Bradley Ritson and Sibusiso Vilakazi were in the players’ suite but the latter will return to training as from Monday, De Sa is not panicking ahead of the Absa Premiership kicking off this weekend.

“It’s unfortunate what has happened, but for Vilakazi it’s more of a precaution while Ritson will only return in a month or so. Ryan Chapman played upfront and he is capable and I think he did a good job. We are not going to panic and we have a good squad, a few injuries, but nothing to worry about,” the one-time capped Bafana Bafana goalie said.

According to De Sa, winger Sifiso Myeni has received an offer from a Danish club and it’s up to the player whether he wants to go or not. A decision is expected today regarding his future.
