The sides started tentatively with neither club wanting to give away anything early on. The tempo picked up after the opening 10 minutes as they began to find their rhythm.
The first clear-cut chance fell to Bevan Fransman, the defender finding the crossbar with his headed effort in the 22nd minute.
The first half drew to a close with tough contests taking place in the midfield and both sides tactically sound and defensively sharp to deny any overt attacking chances.
The second half was more a more lively affair, Yazid Atouba forcing a decent stop out of Darren Keet from a volley early in the half.
In the 68th minute it was the visitors turn to be denied by the crossbar, Eleazar Roders’ headed effort kept out by the frame of the goal.
Despite both sides looking more threatening towards the close of play, neither could find the elusive goal to bag three points. It ended with the sides sharing the spoils.
