Bidvest Wits were unable to extend their lead at the top of the Absa Premiership log today, a 2-1 loss to Highlands Park at the Makhulong Stadium was the outcome of the match, where the Clever Boys created numerous chances and threw the kitchen sink at their opponents.
Gavin Hunt’s men were quick to get on the front foot, creating chances early on. Gift Motupa was on hand to score a glancing header, putting the visitors ahead after 13 minutes.
Highlands Park drew level five minutes later through Peter Shalulile, who got on the end of a long throw to head home at the far post.
Wits’ attacking threat continued to show as Simon Murray and Gift Motupa each had chances to regain the lead.
The hosts took the lead through Mokete Mogaila, who was played through on goal before rounding Keet and finishing off in the 70thminute.
The home side held on to their lead despite an onslaught by Bidvest Wits in the final 15 minutes.
