Keene on Orlando Pirates

James Keene, who scored the winning goal for The Clever Boys in the 28th minute against Orlando Pirates, shared his thoughts on the match.

“Most of us got behind the ball, we put in a huge shift everyone worked so hard. Moeneeb stayed focused and made a great save towards the end of the match. Pirates didn’t create much, so we worked hard and stayed compact and it paid off.”

Orlando Pirates are a good team, they made it difficult for us in the second half, but being organised, compact and working as a team showed in the results we produced last night and the 3 points are ours.

It is very exciting that we are only 4 points behind Mamelodi Sundowns – it makes the next few games very exciting. With only 7 games left there are still points on offer.

When you are scoring goals it creates a good feeling, when you are playing alongside the players that I am playing with Pelembe, Daine and of course fighters like Tyson, who did great with the goal by passing the ball to me. Gavin knows what I am here to do and that is to score goals – so he puts me in the box.”
