Klate focused on what lies ahead

The anticipation is building ahead of Saturday’s MTN8 semi-final clash against newcomers Cape Town City FC.

We asked Daine Klate what his thoughts are ahead of the game at this mornings’ MTN8 media open day at Sturrock Park:

“Cape Town City did well in their first two games of the season. I know coach Eric Tinkler very well as well – he is a very organised and to the T kind of person. They have definitely prepared well. In the short amount of time, they have had together they look like a solid unit. It will be a tough challenge for us on Saturday, and the key is to take it one game at a time.  We need to focus on the first leg at home and ideally not concede any goals.”

The Clever Boys have started the season well, beating Kaizer Chiefs and Orlando Pirates but according to Daine Klate it is still very early days and he is not looking into the fact that Cape Town City and Bidvest Wits beating Kaizer Chiefs as a sign of anything.

” Our focus is on the game ahead and not on a game which is in the past”

League football has been suspended the past two weeks because of the FIFA break as players were called up for international duty. The Braamfontein outfit has been able to train around the clock to improve on their first two matches. Although the extra training is always rewarding , game time is what coach Gavin Hunt loves best.

Tickets for Saturday’s game are still available from Ticketpro, alternatively, you can watch the match live on SS4 or follow us on twitter @BidvestWits for live match tweeting.
